@jbolda/gatsby-theme-homepage

Installation

Install from npm or yarn:

npm install @jbolda/gatsby-theme-homepage

or

yarn add @jbolda/gatsby-theme-homepage

We also rely on peer dependencies of the following packages. Consult the package installation guides for each to potentially additional peer depedencies that require installation.

yarn add @jbolda/gatsby-theme-layout@^0.0.7 gatsby-plugin-mdx@^1.0.49 gatsby-plugin-sharp@^2.2.31 gatsby-plugin-theme-ui@^0.2.46 gatsby-source-filesystem@^2.1.0 gatsby-transformer-sharp@^2.2.20 theme-ui@^0.2.46

Convention

This plugin expects a gatsby-source-filesystem config entry with a name entry of homepage pointing at the directory. The optional, but the recommended folder name is src/homepage.

It expects a landing.mdx, about.mdx, and picture file named avatar in this folder. These three files control the first two sections, and none are technically a requirement.

Lastly, it expects a nested folder named engagements with markdown files with names of your choosing. Each file will be a separate “engagement”. We recommend the “largest” heading level that you use be h3 which is ###. In the markdown frontmatter, we expect an order with a number (integer) to sort these in a specified order being with 1.

Additionally, the site links section in the about section (the second one), you may pass a list of contact links in the siteMetadata. Use contactLinks as an array of objects with a url, text (the text you will see), and an icon as pulled from fontawesome.

If you would like to use your own header, you can shadow the Nav and you don’t need to include @jbolda/gatsby-theme-layout. To shadow the Nav component, place a nav.js with a Nav component exported as a default in your directory at src/@jbolda/gatsby-theme-homepage/components. See the nav-shadow in the examples folder.
